Assembly and fitting

Plenty of jobs start with a box from the furniture shop and end with one hole too many in the wall. Peter assembles cupboards, fixes them safely and knows which plug goes in which wall: concrete in Tanthof, plaster blocks in a new-build, old lime walls in the city centre.

What will it cost?

Mounting a TV with cable trunking costs €95 fixed, not including the bracket. Assembling and fixing a wardrobe from €65. Hanging curtain rails: €65 for the first two windows.

On the wall

A TV bracket has to hold a twenty kilo television for years. Peter checks for pipes and cables with a detector first and only then drills. He tucks the cables away in a trunking the colour of the wall.

Curtain rails, roller blinds, mirrors, a row of frames at the same height. He measures everything with a laser, so it hangs straight, even when the floor or ceiling isn’t.

Cupboards and furniture

A flat-pack wardrobe takes Peter about two hours, adjusting the doors properly included. Tall cupboards he always fixes to the wall, especially with small children in the house. He takes the cardboard away with him.

Which TV bracket should I buy?

PeterCheck the back of your TV for the VESA size, for example 400 x 400, and the weight. If you’re not sure, send a photo of the back and Peter will tell you which one fits.

Can Peter fit a kitchen?

PeterNo, a complete kitchen he leaves to a kitchen fitter. Hanging a single wall cabinet or a shelf above the worktop he does do.
