What Peter comes out for
View all jobs
Electrical
Hanging a light, adding a socket, a dimmer that hums. The small electrical jobs an electrician can’t fit into the diary.

Plumbing
A dripping tap, a toilet that keeps running, a dishwasher that needs connecting. Small plumbing jobs, often done within the hour.

Carpentry
A door that sticks, a skirting board coming loose, a shelf that’s been waiting in the hall for months. Peter brings his plane.

Painting
Whitewashing a ceiling, a room in a new colour, window frames that need touching up. Anything indoors or within ladder height.

Tiling
A loose tile, grout that has turned black, a leaking seal along the bath. A new splashback behind the cooker too.
Door sticking? Tile loose? Light gone?
Peter comes out. Even for one thing, and even when someone else says it’s too small. Got two more little jobs waiting? Add them to the list and he’ll do the lot in one visit.
Peter, the Delft handyman
Peter Willemsen (46) grew up in Tanthof and worked as a carpenter for a builder in Rijswijk for fifteen years. New builds, lots of concrete, not much chat. In 2014 he went out on his own, because the neighbours kept ringing the bell about a sticking door or a light that still needed hanging.

What customers say about Peter
Our front door had been sticking for two winters. Peter sorted it in half an hour and explained why it got worse every autumn. Sixty-five euros, as agreed.
Four lights hung, a smoke alarm in the attic and the toilet that kept running. All in one morning, and he filled the old drill holes we no longer needed.
A few Delft blue tiles in the hallway had come loose. Peter took them off very carefully and put them back. You can’t see a thing.

Frequently asked questions
All questions and answersWhat does a small job cost?
A job of up to about an hour costs €65, including call-out within Delft. Outside Delft there’s an extra €15. You pay for materials at the price on the receipt. For bigger jobs you get a fixed price up front.
Isn’t my job too small?
No. One light, one tile, one sticking door: that’s what Peter comes for. If you have a few small things, put them on a list. Then he’ll do them all in one visit.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm. Handy if you work during the week. The rate is the same as on weekdays.
How soon can Peter come?
Usually within a week. For something that really can’t wait, like a back door that won’t lock any more, he tries to come the same or the next day.
Got a little job waiting?
Put your jobs on a list and send it to Peter. Within one working day you’ll hear what it costs and when he can come.
